美國司法部的新聞稿，標題上說孟晚舟 admits to misleading global financial institution 這句話，卻在美國司法部與孟晚舟簽署的延遲起訴協議書 （DPA）內通篇找不到 admits to misleading 的詞句，或近似的詞句。
有的詞句是孟晚舟 has reviewed 附件內的事實陳述, (statement of facts) “and that all the facts in the Statement of Facts are true and accurate to the best of her information and belief”.
問題在於 statement of facts 裡大量根據路透社的新聞報告有五處之多，孟即使承認這些新聞報告的確發生過為 fact， 也不等於路透社的報告內容都是facts。這些報告內容需要先被證實後才能起到成為起訴的依據。
最有趣的是附件說 “ to the best of her information and belief” 這句話很可能是孟方律師團隊爭取到的後果. 這句話有點滑。
所以說，美國和加拿大的新聞報導裡說的孟晚舟 pleaded not guilty to all charges and yet admits to wrong doing, 仍屬西方新聞界所說的 spin. 說美方司法體系能接受孟的完全不認罪和孟承認事實陳述 to the best of her information and belief 就放人了， 這也太慫了點吧。
